The True Nature of a Leader

What makes a leader?

Since setting up my business almost 3 years ago it has become increasingly clear to me that the difference between a leader and a worker is that leaders have a vision. For a leader, it’s not what is happening now, it’s what they want to happen tomorrow. Leaders then find the people who will help them get to where they want to be.

Workers live in fear of change. They are desperate to keep things as they are and they find people to help get what they’re doing done and to share their fears with.

Leaders live without fear. They have a passion and that is what drives them.

Workers let their fear drive them. They are scared they will lose what they have.

Leaders have an intrinsic belief in themselves. They strive to make things better.

I have had the greatest of luck to have been able to work with such leaders. They know that you have to implement today in order to reap the rewards tomorrow.

They know that action has to be taken because movement, momentum and change are the only things that are true.

A great leader must have a fundamental belief that tomorrow will be ok, regardless of what they do.

I certainly don’t rank myself as a great leader in anyway, but I do have a vision, and although I don’t know how I’m going to get there. I’m simply going to keep on going till I do.
